Autumn 2016
Southern Sinfonia with Sir Roger Norrington and Jennifer Pike
Our first concert in Taunton, following the move from our former home in Newbury, was conducted by our Patron, Sir Roger Norrington with violinist Jennifer Pike, a former winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year.
Summer 2016
Southern Sinfonia,Simon Chalk,Catrin Finch andDiane Clark
Our concert at the Brewhouse theatre featured two of the UK’s most exciting soloists, the harpist Catrin Finch (former Royal Harpist to HRH The Prince of Wales) and flautist Diane Clark. It was the debut of Simon Chalk as conductor of the Orchestra.
Autumn 2016
Southern Sinfonia, Craig Ogden, Simon Chalk
In Autumn 2016 we took up residency at Queen’s College, Taunton establishing a unique collaboration for both orchestra and school… we believe the first of its kind in the country.
For our opening concert at Queen's we were joined by Craig Ogden, one of the world’s great guitar soloists for a performance of ‘Concierto de Aranjuez’ by Rodrigo.

Southern Sinfonia, Simon Chalk, Naomi Harvey, Alison Kettlewell, Paul Badley and Eddie Wade.
Our glittering ‘Opera Gala’ with its cast of star singers was a huge hit with our audience!
Summer 2018
Southern Sinfonia, Simon Chalk and Peter Donohoe
We welcomed the international pianist, Peter Donohue, to perform Rachmaninov’s sublime Second Piano Concerto.
Spring 2019
Southern Sinfonia, Simon Chalk and Graham Caskie
Graham performed Beethoven’s ‘symphony for the piano’ the towering 5th Piano Concerto, with panache and sparkle and the programme was complimented by the verve and joy of Mendelssohn’s 4th Symphony ‘The Italian’
